She lived in the Washington DC area for 10 years, after completing her education at the Culinary Institute of America, where she worked as Brunch Chef at the Sheraton Washington Hotel. She met her future husband, Chris, after moving back home to Vermont. She and Chris owned and operated the Belmont General Store, in Mount Holly for many years.
